CEBU CITY – A farmer was arrested after he was caught allegedly tending to marijuana plants in a mountainous barangay in Toledo City, Cebu.
Demetrio Laspoña Baculi, 57, was also caught possessing an unlicensed .45 caliber pistol during the arrest past 2 p.m. on Friday, April 28, police said.
Operatives of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company and Intelligence Unit of the Cebu Provincial Police Office had gone to Sitio Abayan, Barangay General Climaco, to serve an arrest warrant against Jonathan Abadinas.
After arresting Abadinas, police chanced upon Baculi attending a marijuana plantation.
After arresting Baculi, police also seized half a kilo of dried marijuana worth P10,000.
Police also uprooted at least 500 marijuana plants worth P200,000 in the area.
Baculi was detained pending the filing of charges against him, police said.
