Pasay LGU welcomes relics of St. Therese of the Child of Jesus
The Pasay City government welcomed the visit of the relics of St. Therese of the Child of Jesus on Friday, April 28.
Pasay Mayor Emi Calixto- Rubiano was represented by Councilor Mark Calixto and Peter Pardo, Rubiano’s chief of staff, in welcoming the arrival of the relics of St. Therese at the Pasay City Hall.
The relics were placed at the city hall lobby for viewing from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The city government said it was lucky that Pasay was chosen as the only local government unit (LGU) in Metro Manila to be visited by the holy relics.
The pilgrim relics of St. Therese of the Child Jesus arrived in the country last December 15, 2022 as part of its four-month tour in the Philippines.
The relics, stored in a special reliquary, are bone fragments of St. Therese who was known for her simplicity and holiness.
At 15, she became a Carmelite nun and passed away at the age of 24.
