Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez is inviting residents to bring their children aged zero to 29 months old to their nearest health center or any vaccination sites to receive vaccines against polio, rubella and measles.
The Parañaque Public Information Office (PIO) posted a video message of Olivarez encouraging all parents with children in the aforementioned age group to participate in the mass immunization program of the city government from May 2 to 31.
The city government listed three vaccination sites that will provide free immunization services to kids, namely the third floor of SM BF from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; SM City Sucat every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and third floor of Building B in Ayala Malls Manila Bay from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 6 to 13.

This is a part of the “Chikiting Ligtas! Bakuna Kontra Rubella, Polio at Tigdas” immunization program of the Department of Health (DOH) that is being implemented to promote vaccinations for infants and prevent the outbreak of the diseases to children in the city. Olivarez said children aged 0-59 years old are eligible to received vaccines against polio while kids aged 6 to 59 months old will be given vaccines against rubella and measles disease. He also appealed to residents to accept midwives and nurses who will be conducting house-to-house vaccination of children in their respective homes. The mayor reminded residents that because of the outbreak of Covid-19, millions of children were not given immunization against the disease.
