Newborn baby boy set on fire, dumped in garbage heap in Cagayan
BAGGAO, Cagayan – A newborn baby boy was burned and dumped in a garbage heap in the compound of a boarding house Barangay San Jose here on Wednesday, April 26.
Police Capt. Jackelyn Urian, Baggao deputy chief of police, said that the landlady of the boarding house discovered the baby with his umbilical cord still attached and half of his body charred.
The woman told police that she saw someone set fire on the garbage heap on Tuesday, April 25.
The following day when she was about to clean the compound, she saw what looked like a doll in the garbage heap but realized that it was the remains of a newborn baby when she approached it.
The baby was dead when he was found.
Police are investigating at least seven persons of interest in the incident.
