The Muntinlupa Science High School will be implementing a blended learning mode of classes in May due to the soaring temperature in Metro Manila.

The Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management reported that the heat index reached 37 degree Celsius in Muntinlupa,
Heat index “is a measure of the contribution that high humidity makes with abnormally high temperatures in reducing the body's ability to cool itself,” according to the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
In an announcement on April 28, the Muntinlupa Science High School, a public school, said it will implement a blended learning modality from May 2 to 31.
The decision was reached after evaluation by the Schools Division Office-Muntinlupa, and deliberation and consultation with parents, teachers and students.
Under the set-up, teachers and students of the public school will hold face-to-face morning classes for four hours daily except Wednesday. The remaining subjects will be held online/offline under a flexi schedule.
“F2F classes will be 7:00 - 11:00 only and to avoid the scorching heat of the sun, everybody is advised to leave the school, stay at home and get hydrated,” the Muntinlupa Science High School said.
It said during face-to-face classes, students will be allowed to wear school physical education uniforms or any MSHS printed t-shirts.
The Schools Division Office-Muntinlupa has yet to issue a decision on the blended learning plans as of this writing.
