Drug gang member shot dead in Quezon

TIAONG, Quezon – An alleged member of a drug syndicate was gunned down on Thursday afternoon, April 27, in Purok 1, Barangay San Agustin, this town. The victim was identified as Joey Malabanan, 34. Police said Malabanan was on his way home from the San Agustin River when two men identified as Ruel Sanchez Exconde, alias “Apong,” of Barangay Ayusan 2, here, and Eugenio Panganiban, alias “Imboy,” of Barangay Ayusan 1, this town, appeared and shot the victim who died on the spot. The suspects fled towards Barangay San Agustin. Police have yet to determine the motive of the incident and reviewing surveillance footage to determine the suspects’ whereabouts.
