San Juan City rolls out second Covid booster for general public
The San Juan City government launched its second Covid-19 booster rollout for the general population on Thursday, April 27, at the FilOil Flying V Center in the city.

In the past months, the second Covid booster was reserved for medical frontliners, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities.
With the supervision of DOH officials, San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora was inoculated with the second booster shot during the launch.

“I am very thankful that the general population has been allowed the second booster shot against Covid-19 because this is an added protection to our people who are already trying to overcome the effects of the pandemic,” Zamora said. “Mahalagang tulong ito sa ating mga bumabangon mula sa pagkakadapa dahil sa pandemya (This is a big help to us as we recover from the adversities we faced during the pandemic),” he added. Since the National Capital Region (NCR) has been placed under Alert Level 1, Zamora cautioned the public against the resurging cases of Covid-19, and encouraged them to get their booster shots. DOH Undersecretary and Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire has said that the second booster shot can also be administered to pregnant and lactating adult women, as well as to immunocompromised adults “regardless of their priority group classification.” The available vaccines for the second booster shot are Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca.
