Korean TV music show pays tribute to late ASTRO's Moonbin, its former emcee
Korean TV music show “Show Champion” aired a tribute video for the late K-pop idol Moonbin, a member of boy band ASTRO, who passed away on April 19.
Moonbin worked as an emcee of “Show Champion” from March 4, 2020 to Oct. 26, 2022 or about two years and eight months along with ASTRO’s Sanha and boy band Verivery’s Kangmin.

"Show Champion" paid tribute to Moonbin on April 26 (Show Champion)
According to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, Moonbin was found dead at his home in Gangnam, Seoul at about 8:10 p,m. on April 19 by his manager who reported it to the police. No evidence of foul play was found. He was 25. During the April 26 episode of “Show Champion,” a video was aired commemorating Moonbin’s work as host of the show. Girl group Billlie member Moon Sua, Moonbin’s sister and an emcee of the show, was unable to attend the show due his passing. Acting as emcees for the day were Billlie’s Tsuki and woo!ah!’s Nana. "Last week, unfortunate and sad news was delivered to the music industry. Moonbin, a shining idol on stage and former MC of 'Show! Champion,' has become a star in the sky,” said Nana. "I will remember every moment that Moonbin gave us as a gift," said Tsuki. In the tribute video for Moonbin, “Show Champion” stated, “There is a dazzling person who came to us by shining the bright moonlight.I laughed a lot thanks to you. I received the gift of passion and comfort through the stage with all your heart and sincerity. Wednesday with you was a dream fairy tale moment.” "Your warm words changed our daily life. It was an amazing moment when I learned about happiness and was comforted. We hope to become people who deliver happiness and comfort to someone like you,” the show added. It added, “I will never forget all the warm moments I had with you. Moonbin, who will always be with us in our hearts. I will remember you for a very long time." On Sept. 3, 2016, ASTRO including Moonbin performed at the “Show Champion” show in Manila. Born in 1998, he made his debut in the entertainment industry as a child actor in the 2009 hit drama “Boys Over Flowers,” playing the role of the young Kim Bum. In 2016, he made his debut in the boy band ASTRO. ASTRO’s Moonbin and Sanha held their “Diffusion” in Manila fan concert last March 25.
