CAMALANIUGAN, Cagayan – An access road linking Barangays Joaquin dela Cruz to Felipe Tuzon in this town is almost complete, the Department of Public Works and Highways said.
The DPWH said hundreds of residents from these two far-flung barangays will benefit from the project.
“Residents will no longer have to endure hours of walking and travel in rough road conditions to reach neighboring barangays,” the DPWH added.
Engr. Oscar G. Gumiran, DPWH Cagayan First District Engineering Office (CFDEO) district engineer, said the construction of the 2.49-kilometer road was no easy feat due to the remote location of the project.
“However, due to the cooperation of everyone involved, the project is now almost done,” he added.
The project, which will also provide better opportunities and better quality of life for locals, most especially the Agta community, is 95.75 percent accomplished and has a target completion this quarter.
