Viado joins BI as deputy commissioner

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has expressed its appreciation for the appointment of  lawyer Joel Anthony Viado as its deputy commissioner. Viado was greeted by BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco and the organization's personnel. Viado earned his degree in political science and graduated from the University of the Philippines' law program, subsequently passing the Philippine Bar in 1999. Before his appointment, he served as a law firm partner responsible for its overall management and operation. He began his legal profession as a legal adviser to multinational companies involved in construction activities throughout Asia, Europe, and the United States. Viado also worked in the Presidential Management Staff during the administration of then-President Joseph Estrada, and has had extensive experience in both the public and private sectors.
