When designers revisit their archival designs and present them on a runway, it is always all about celebration. But as Tom Ford releases his fall-winter 2023 collection for his namesake brand, the moment is veiled with a hint of sadness as it marks the end of his journey of building and leading it for the past 13 years.

Think of it as a parade of Tom Ford's influential designs. The collection showcases reproductions of some of his iconic looks such as the broken mirror sheath from spring 2014, Beyonce's sequinned jersey minidress for her "Mrs. Carter World Tour," the viral fuchsia breastplate donned by Zendaya at the 2020 Critics Choice Awards, and Gwyneth Paltrow's white caped dress during the 2012 Oscars. Posted on the brand's social media platforms are the campaign photos of the latest collection featuring models and celebrities Amber Valetta, Joan Smalls, Karlie Kloss, Karen Elson, and Caroline Trentini, among others. They pose in what looks like a lit store window with photographer Steven Klein capturing the looks styled by Carine Roitfeld. In one image, the designer is seen in front of the muses, as if directing them for the last time for his eponymous label.
Tom Ford's departure comes after the selling of the brand at $2.8 billion to Estee Lauder in November last year. There is no news yet as to who will be leading the brand in the future. *Hello, readers! Do you have a story you want us to feature?
