P347K shabu, firearm seized in Pasig anti-illegal drugs op
Three high value individuals (HVIs) were nabbed in an anti-illegal drugs operation in Pasig City on Monday, April 24, the Eastern Police District (EPD) said.
The suspects were identified as Amat Rasid, Kasim Rasid, and Kana Pempeng, all residents of Pasig City.
EPD District Director Brig. Gen. Wilson Asueta said the suspects were arrested by EPD operatives on Eusebio Ave. following a series of surveillance and coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
After their arrest, the authorities seized P347,548 worth of shabu and a 9mm pistol with live ammunition from the suspects.
They were brought to the Rizal Medical Hospital for medical examination and were later turned over to the Pasig City Police Station Custodial Facility.
The trio is now facing charges for violations of Section 5, 11 and 26 Art. II of R.A. No. 9165 and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Regulation Act).
Asueta lauded the efforts of the EPD in stopping the proliferation of illegal drugs in the community.
