Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan has lauded the city police force for the arrest of more than 250 wanted individuals from January to April 2023.
Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) Chief Col. Ruben Lacuesta said seven of the arrested individuals were tagged as the city’s top 10 most wanted persons; 53 belong to the most wanted list; and 195 were listed as wanted persons.
Lacuesta said the arrested individuals are facing carnapping, homicide, murder, rape, violation of the Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), and Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act charges.
"This is a huge achievement for the Caloocan Police. This is a huge achievement for the Caloocan Police. It proves that they are not neglecting their duty and they continue to support our call to clear the list of the most wanted persons here in Caloocan)," Malapitan said.
Whether poor or rich, everyone has the right to live with a sense of peace and security. That's why everyone needs to work together, from the barangay to the city government and especially the police, to protect the citizens)," he added.
The mayor also said the Caloocan City Peace and Order Council is drafting new resolutions and policies to intensify the anti-criminality campaign in the city.
"Our goal is to further lower the crime rate in the city. If zero crime rate is possible, why not? We will find ways to continue to strengthen peace and order in Caloocan and also strengthen the trust of the citizens in the police and in attaining justice)," he added.
