Man wanted for murder, other crimes fall in Maguindanao

ILIGAN CITY – Combined police and military units apprehended a man wanted for murder and other cases during the implementation of warrant of arrest in Sitio Campo Dos, Barangay Kilangan, Pagalungan, Maguindanao del Sur on Sunday, April 23, 2023.

Joint Task Force Central commander Major Gen. Alex Rillera identified the suspect as Joel Manampan, alias “Maula.” Manampan was a most wanted person on the national level for double murder, gun-for-hire, gunrunning, extortion, carnapping, and robbery. Seized from Manampan were a grenade and Improvised Explosive Device components. Suspect was taken to the Pagalungan police station for filing of appropriate charges. The recovered IED components were turned over to PECU-Maguindanao for proper disposition. The grenade was brought to the 90th Infantry Battalion headquarters and subsequently turned over to the 33rd Explosive Ordnance Disposal team for proper disposal. Armed Forces Western Mindanao Command chief Lt. Gen. Roy Galido commended the operating troops for the successful operation.
