Enrique Gil just signed a new contract with ABS-CBN.
Obviously, he is to continue with his career here, while girlfriend Liza Soberano is in the US aiming to establish foothold in Hollywood.
Some believe this is proof that Liza and Enrique are no longer together.
Recall that fans have been worrying about this for some time, particularly after Liza didn't post a birthday greeting for Enrique, who turned 31 a few days ago.
But in an interview with ABS-CBN, Enrique reiterated that all is well between them.
"We're good," he said. "I mean, she's just really busy doing her stuff there (abroad). I'm gonna be visiting her, you know, maybe when my schedule clears up. But I think she's coming back here. But yeah, we're good and I just really support her no matter what."
"I know it's hard for, you know, going in a new path but I support her nonetheless. And who knows, you might be seeing her come back in the near future," he added.
According to him, being in a relationship for seven years now, they're used to gossip about them breaking up.
"What can you do, you're in the limelight," he said.
"Because Hope (Liza) is in the U.S., you know, she's doing her own thing, I will support her no matter what - love her to death. Yeah, in a way. But it's me coming back, doing my own path as a solo artist. We're going for the multi-level genre," he declared relating he might try his hand at comedy, action, and/or romance.
Asked how he and Liza manage the long-distance relationship, Enrique admitted: "It's hard."
"I mean, we don't talk as much as we use to because of different timezone. But we still keep in check and she's good there. She has a team with her there which is really good."
Last year, Liza reiterated that she and Enrique have not called it quits.
According to her, the latter actually knew all about her trips abroad and was very supportive of her endeavors.
