DOLE, NCR cities to hold Labor Day job fairs


The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), together with the Public Employment Service Offices (PESO) of various cities in the National Capital Region (NCR), will hold job fairs and set up one-stop shops for jobseekers leading up to and even beyond Labor Day on May 1.

The Taguig City government, in partnership with the IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), will hold a virtual job fair on Thursday, April 27. Aside from job postings, the fair will also feature exhibitor booths and learning sessions. Interested applicants must register through the link (https://itbpm.talenthub.ph/) to join the fair.

Meanwhile, over 37 companies will be featured in the mega job fair in San Juan City on Friday, April 28, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the San Juan Gym.

DOLE-NCR will conduct its nationwide mega job fair at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City on Sunday, April 30, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Around 8,000 vacancies from 150 companies – 25 of which are overseas employment agencies – will be offered to participants during the event.

Simultaneously, DOLE-NCR will have a virtual job fair in collaboration with JobQuestPH. Interested applicants must pre-register through the link (https://jobquest.ph).

DOLE-NCR will conduct its annual job fairs on Labor Day, May 1, in collaboration with several malls across the metropolis.

The venues for the job fairs in NCR are as follows:

  • SM Grand Central (from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., catering to Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and Valenzuela jobseekers);
  • SM BF Paranaque and SM City Sucat (from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in partnership with the Paranaque city government),
  • SM Southmall (at the Activity Center, Almanza I, Las Piñas City from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in partnership with Las Pinas PESO)
  • Robinson’s Place in Las Pinas City (from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.),
  • Vista Mall in Taguig City,
  • SM City Marikina (from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in partnership with the Marikina local government);
  • Quezon City Quadrangle

The City of Manila will also host a job fair on May 1 with DOLE at the San Andres Sports Complex from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. According to Manila PESO, 15,000 job vacancies from 100 employers are available for high school graduates, college level students, and college or technical vocational course graduates.

After Labor Day, the Pasig City local government will hold a first-time jobseekers one-stop shop and job fair on Tuesday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tanghalang Pasigueno. Around 30 companies are confirmed to participate in the fair.

DOLE-NCR will also hold a job fair at the 3rd Level of the Alabang Public Market on Friday, May 5.

The Malabon City government is also expected to host a job fair on May 5 at the Malabon Sports Complex.

All applicants are reminded to wear proper casual attire, prepare numerous copies of their updated resumes, curriculum vitae (CV) or biodata sheets, and bring their valid IDs and ballpens.

The one-stop shops will offer free services, especially to first time jobseekers such as the processing of their police clearance, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) certificates, and registration to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), PAGIBIG, PhilHealth, and Social Security System (SSS).

First-time jobseekers who wish to avail of the free services from the venues with one-stop shops must present a barangay certification indicating their residency in the city and validating their status as a first-time jobseeker, and a valid ID.

Participants must also continue to follow the minimum public health protocols in their respective venues.

Due to the summer heat, applicants are also urged to bring their own water bottles, fans, and umbrellas for their health and safety.
