Cops nab man for stabbing his cousin to death in QC

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Holy Spirit Station (PS 14) operatives arrested a man who stabbed to death his cousin in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City on Tuesday, April 25. Lt. Col. May Genio, PS 14 commander, identified the suspect as Victor Villeza, 32, of the same barangay. Report showed that the victim and the witness, Veronica Candelario, were watching a movie in front of the latter’s house on San Roque Street  at around 9 p.m. on Tuesday when the suspect arrived. Villeza reportedly got irritated and uttered foul words when he saw his cousin holding his pet cat.  The victim returned the cat to Villeza but he threw the cat back at his cousin before leaving.  (Photo from Quezon City Police District/ MANILA BULLETIN)

The QCPD said that Candelario saw the suspect looking at the victim while standing at a corner on San Roque Street. The stabbing incident happened when the victim was walking towards his house for dinner. Villeza approached his cousin, pulled out a kitchen knife, and stabbed him thrice in the body.  Villeza ran inside his house to hide while the victim was rushed by his relatives to Maclang General Hospital.  He was declared dead on arrival at around 9:30 p.m. PS 14 and Barangay Holy Spirit public safety officers responded and collared the suspect. They recovered the knife that he used in the stabbing. Villeza will be charged for murder and will be referred to the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, police said.
