It took three years for Kapamilya heartthrob Enrique Gil to return to showbiz.
Following a warm red carpet welcome at the ABS-CBN compound last April 25, Enrique said he was ready to resume his career for which he had been away for several years.
"Of course I missed it. I've been doing it for so long. It's hard not to miss it. The love for the fans and everything. Nakaka-miss talaga s'ya. I was quiet. People were asking, 'why are you so quiet, you're not posting anything.' I just want to feel quiet. Simple lang. Just at home with my family," said Enrique when asked if he missed showbiz during an interview for "TV Patrol" on the Kapamilya Network.
In those three years, Enrique said that he traveled back and forth between the US and Spain.
Enrique, 31, also said that he stayed with his family during the pandemic.
"I stayed with my family. With this whole pandemic thing, I just took into perspective na mas importante yung time with my family, with my siblings. Seeing all these faces I haven't seen in a while nakaka-touch siya. You just feel happy that you're back home, and I really miss them," the actor-dancer said.
But Enrique admitted that he wanted to give up his showbiz career, but he changed his mind.
"For a time, because I really enjoyed the three years out. Pero sabi ko parang may kulang. I need to leave a legacy in my own production company and I really want to make our Filipino content to make it out globally. I just want to make sure that if I were coming back, it's more of a purpose than just coming back," said the Kapamilya star when asked about rumors he was leaving showbiz.

Enrique was also accompanied by his dog Millie, that nearly stole the spotlight during the red carpet.
"She's my baby right now. She's my sweetheart. She's a year-old and she's everywhere with me. Dogs in the house can keep you company naman," he said.
Despite the distance, Enrique said that he's still in a relationship with Hope Soberano. "Hope is in the US and she's doing her own thing. So I support her no matter what. I love her to death. It's me making my own path as a solo artist. We're good. She's busy doing her stuff there. I'm going to visit her maybe when my schedule clears up. I think she's coming back here. We're good. "
Enrique said that he and Hope just laughed off rumors that they have separated. "What can you do? You're in the limelight."
The multi-talented showbiz personality remains a certified Kapamilya after signing an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN last Tuesday.
