The funeral ceremony for Moonbin was held privately on April 22 with family, friends and fellow members in ASTRO in attendance.

A memorial space was set up in front of the building of Fantagio, ASTRO’s agency, in Seoul. Last April 23, the agency announced that there will be additional memorial space for Moonbin and this will be maintained until April 30.

It was revealed Moonbin’s sister, Moon Sua, who is a member of girl group Billlie, went to the memorial space to leave a message for him.

All the remaining members of ASTRO--Cha Eun-woo, Jinjin, Sanha and MJ-- also posted handwritten messages in the memorial space along with Seventeen’s Seungkwan and Mingyu, and Weki Meki's Choi Yoojung.  Rocky left ASTRO in February.

"Oppa, it's me. Your one-and-only younger sister Sua. I was here too. I cried so much until now, and am going to stop crying. From now on, I'm going to laugh and smile. I'll make sure to be happy, doing things that I want to do,” wrote Moon Sua in her letter to her late brother, according to SBS News.

She added, "So, you've got to be happy and rest in peace there. And keep an eye on me to check if I'm doing well, okay? I'm going to live my life to the fullest. I'll live yours, too. Don't you dare stop me from doing that! But whenever life doesn't treat me well, I'll come and complain to you. Be prepared for my endless complaints. You've honestly done a good job. We're forever Moon siblings!"

It was reported that ASTRO’s Jinjin and MJ were the first to visit the memorial space while Cha Eun-woo and Sanha went there in the early morning of April 25.

Jinjin wrote, "We promised to live with a smile on our face at all times, right? Like you told me, I'm trying my best to live with a smile on my face. I'm planning on starting my practice for musicals soon, eating a lot of food, including yours. Don't worry about your parents. I'll take good care of them. I love you so much, my brother."

MJ posted, "I'm here too late, aren't I? I'm sorry. You must have felt so lonely. I can't even imagine how much pain you may have suffered... Only if I were closer to you... I'm sorry that I wasn't able to be next to you, protecting you."

In his letter to Moonbin, Cha Eun-woo wrote, “"Hey, Bin. Tonight's a night that I miss you, you bastard. I couldn't fall asleep, so I came out for a walk with San-ha. Are you getting a good sleep? Why do I feel like I took everything for granted with you, even the smallest things? I miss all those things, and I also have lots of regrets. I hope that you will be like 100 times happier over there. I'll take the responsibility of everything you left behind, so don't worry about that. You've done well here. I love you, and miss you, my friend."

Sanha, who held the Diffusion show in Manila with Moonbin in March, said, "How are you, hyung? I really miss you. It still feels like you should be here with me at this moment. I know that you'll say something to me seeing me this way, but let me be like this for a while. You told me to be happy, so I'll be happy. I promise. I love you, and love you."

Seungkwan is one of Moonbin’s closest friends. He wrote in his letter, "Moong-bing, do wait a little more. If you do, I'll do all I can to make you feel as if the whole universe is yours. I'll make sure that happens. Love you, lots and lots. And give me a hug the next time we see each other."

Mingyu wrote, "Hi, Bin. If it wasn't for you, I probably would've never come to your company, but here I am, all thanks to you. My most memorable memory with you is when we talked all night long. You remember that day? You had many worries in your head, and the only response I could give you was, 'There's no other K-pop star who is as good at everything as you are.'"

He added, "I'll work harder. Don't let any pain make you suffer anymore; simply smile from this day forth. I'm sorry... You've done well. When we meet again, I'll buy you some eomuk-tang (fish cake soup) and soju (traditional liquor). Keep rooting for your group members from a distance. My favorite song is 'Waterfall' by the way. Be happy, buddy.”

Weki Meki is a girl group under Fantagio. Member Choi Yoo-jung wrote, "Bin oppa, there seems to be a mountain of stuff I want to say to you. I think we've understood what you were trying to say... You've worked too hard up to now. You've taken great care of people around you as well.”

I truly hope you take a good rest now. I'll visit you often. So, come and see us in our dreams time to time.", adding, "I would like to thank you. Thank you for being someone that I could rely on. And I'm sorry. Actually, let me put 'sorry' back in my mouth. I don't think you would like me saying sorry to you!" she added.
