1 hurt as drunk driver figures in multiple vehicle mishap in Makati City
Three vehicles -- a motorcycle, an SUV, and an MPV -- figured in a series of mishaps along Amorsolo St. and Arnaiz Ave. in Makati City early Tuesday morning, April 25.
According to the rider of the motorcycle, he was cruising along Amorsolo St. coming from Buendia going to Ayala when a blue Toyota Innova suddenly turned right without using his signal light and hit him.
The Innova's driver approached the rider and cursed at him. He then sped away from the scene of the incident.
The Innova then hit a black Ford Ecosport at the corner of Arnaiz Ave. while the SUV was exiting Don Bosco Church.
The Ecosport's driver said that he and his family just came from the wake of their friend when the incident occurred. He added that his child complained of having headache after the crash.
Initial investigation showed that the driver that figured in mishap was drunk after attending the birthday of his workmate. The driver apologized to the victims and said that he would settle the damages he had caused.
However, he denied that he hit the motorcycle rider.
Meanwhile, the driver of the black Ecosport said he would file charges against the driver.
The suspect and victims were brought to the Makati Traffic Bureau for further investigation.
The driver is now facing charges of reckless driving resulting in physical injuries.
