From Taiwan, Ming Sing make its way to the Philippines

It’s always a joy to discover brands that hold so much heritage. Not only have they stood the test of time, their products are obviously well-loved and trusted. One such brand is Ming Sing Taiwan which finally made its way to Philippine shores.
In fact, the Philippines was the first country to import Ming Sing’s Florida Water in 1937. So it was destined for Ming Sing to have their first “home” away from home in the Philippines, launching last March 2023.
A holistic wellness brand that was started in Shanghai 1903 by a Chairman of the Chinese and Western Medicine Bureau Zhou Bangjun who was also a doctor. The first product he introduced to the market was a cologne that worked as a disinfectant. Ming Sing Florida Water took four years of tests, finally launching in 1907. By 1929, Zhou Bangjun’s eldest daughter, Zhou Wenji, handled the operations. Her participation led the company to be listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. But the civil war happened, forcing them to settle in Taipei, Taiwan in 1949. After a year, she established Ming Sing Perfume & Soap Co., renaming it to Ming Sing Chemical Co. From then, Ming Sing became a household staple. In 2019, Sencheng Trading Co. Ming Sing Florida Water and added more products to their line up including Moisturizing Body Candle which can be used on the body, Mosquito Repellant that can protect up to four hours, Crystal Hand Sanitizer that comes with spiritual healing properties via crystals such as citrine (for boosting one’s self-esteem), tourmaline (for manifesting joy and contentment), and olivine (for clearing out negativity and promoting spiritual healing). The Anti-Itch Roller that contains essential oils that soothes itchiness and calm inflammation—a handy bottle to add to your essentials. At the official launch last March, Ming Sing Taiwan CEO Evelyn Kwok was present to celebrate this milestone. “We are proud to be bringing the Ming Sing Agua de Florida legacy, and a host of other self-care products, to the Philippines. We believe that this is just what Filipinas need to feel physically and spiritually well so that they can do everything they set their mind into,” she shares. Co-Director of Business Development Leo Lau adds, “There’s more to look forward to from the Ming Sing line, because our philosophy is to put a twist to everyday products. Just like how Ming Sing Agua de Florida touched so many lives back then, we want to do the same with our new product line. This is truly just the beginning. This is all still a work in progress.
