BUTUAN CITY – A magnitude-four earthquake rocked Sindangan town, Zamboanga del Norte province, on Monday morning, April 24, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the earthquake occurred at 8:28 a.m. and its epicenter was plotted 10 kilometers (kms) southwest of Sindangan.
The tremor had a deptho of 21 kms, Phivolcs said.
Phivolcs instruments registered the earthquake at Intensity IIIÂ in Sindangan and Intensity IÂ in Dapitan City and Dipolog City in Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur.
No aftershocks or damage are expected from the earthquake.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Zamboanga Peninsula and the Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) reported no damage or injury from the earthquake.
