Female centenarian gets P100,000 from Muntinlupa LGU 


A woman who turned 100 was gifted with P100,000 by the Muntinlupa City government. 

Vice Mayor Artemio Simundac, representing Mayor Ruffy Biazon, and the Muntinlupa Office for Senior Citizens Affairs headed by Zenaida Celestino visited the home of Leonora Eugenio in Barangay Ayala Alabang to present her with a check for P100,000.

Muntinlupa City Ordinance No. 2018-147 grants “financial benefits/privileges to centenarians who have reached 100 years old and above living in the City of Muntinlupa amounting to One Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php l00,000.00) each which amount shall be taken from the Executive Budget.” 

The ordinance covers “all Senior Citizens who reached 100 years old and above who are residing within the jurisdiction of Muntinlupa City.”

In addition, under Republic Act 10868, or the Centenarians Act of 2016, all Filipino centenarians will each receive a P100,000 gift from the national government.
