A report from the NDRRMC said that a Philippine Air Force (PAF) officer assigned in the area called the Office of Civil Defense in Central Luzon (OCD Region 3) and reported that water was coming out from the agency's humanitarian response depot (HRD) around 2 p.m.
A duty officer of the NDRRMC then proceeded to the warehouse to investigate and check the situation of the facility.
“Upon arrival, it was found [out] that the warehouse was flooded due to a damaged faucet in the comfort room caused by high water pressure,” the NDRRMC report said.
Due to the incident, an undetermined number of hygiene kits were found submerged in water.
The NDRRMC usually prepositions relief packs in its warehouses established in different parts of the country so it can readily be distributed to communities when a calamity strikes.
The NDRRMC said that OCD personnel were deployed to the warehouse to bail water out and conduct assessment on the extent of damages.
Meanwhile, the undamaged items were placed in a storage rack to preserve them.
