DPWH completes P4.9-M box culvert project in Pangasinan

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Region 1 (Ilocos) recently completed the construction of a box culvert project in Barangay Bacnar, San Carlos City, Pangasinan.

Engineer Virgilio B. Zamudio, DPWH-Pangasinan Fourth District officer-in-charge, said the project benefits residents in San Carlos City as they can now cross the San Juan River with their vehicles.

“Using the newly constructed box culvert enables farmers, traders, and private commuters to transport their products with ease and safety compared to the bamboo footbridge before,” Zamudio said.

The project also reduces travel time in going to the business center in the city from 40 minutes to 20 minutes.

The infrastructure funded by the General Appropriations Act of 2022 for P4,949,968.24 is two-lane carriageway with a net length of 88 linear meters and five-meters wide.
