Gina Fernandez, deputy chief of the Cadiz City Police Station, said the victim went swimming with his sibling when he was swept away by a strong river current. Fernandez said the victim reportedly did not know how to swim. The victim was revived by his father and a rescuer but he was declared dead in a hospital.
