CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Police arrested 119 individuals for alleged illegal gambling in Central Luzon over the weekend.
The Police Regional Office-3 said 72 persons were arrested for playing card and tile games “tong-its,” cujao, monte, “pusoy,” and mahjong.
Thirty-three were nabbed for “tupada” or illegal cockfighting and online “sabong” (cockfighting).
Nine were apprehended for “cara y cruz” (coin game) and poker pool.
A fruit game machine used for gambling was seized, along with bet money amounting to more than P67,000, playing cards, fighting cocks, and pool table.
Suspects face charges for violating Presidential Decree 1602 or the Anti-Illegal Gambling Law.
