VP Sara to parents: Send your kids to school, keep them away from illegal acts
Vice President Sara Duterte told parents to do everything in their power to send their children to school and keep them away from drugs and other illegal acts.
Duterte made the statement as she spoke during the Kaamulan Festival in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon on Saturday, April 22. In her speech, the Vice President appealed to parents to send their kids to school as she stressed that education was the key to progress. "Edukasyon ang nakikita nating susi sa pag-unlad ng bansa at kapayapaan sa ating mga komunidad (Education is the key to the success of the country and peace in our communities)," Duterte said. "Hinihiling ko sa mga magulang na gawin natin lahat ng paraan upang mabigyan ng edukasyon ang ating mga anak. Ilayo natin sila sa mga kriminalidad, droga, insurhensiya, terorismo at iba pang makakasira sa kanilang buhay (I am appealing to the parents to do everything to provide education to your children. Let us keep them away from criminality, drugs, insurgency, terrorism, and other acts that could ruin their life)," she added. Aside from education, the Vice President told parents to send their children to school to also learn sports and take part in community building. Duterte was in Malaybalay City to grace the street dancing and float parade activities during the festival.
