Hundreds of M-14, M-16 bullets found beside creek in Isabela town
ECHAGUE, Isabela – Police operatives have found a cache of thousands of bullets for high-powered firearms allegedly owned by the New People’s Army (NPA) rebels beside a creek in Sitio Quimag, Barangay San Carlos in this town on Friday, April 21.
Police Major Rogelio Natividad, Echague chief of police, said that at least 245 bullets for M-14 rifles and 1,523 bullets for M-16 rifles were shielded in a blue container allegedly left by the escaping NPA rebels.
Natividad learned information about the location of the bullet cache from a surrendered former rebel.
He said that the NPA rebels involved in an encounter with the government troops in 2017 in the area might be the owners of the said bullets.
