BTS' Suga sets new record for highest first day sales for solo album with 1.07 M copies
BTS’ Suga set a new record for the highest first day sales for a solo album in South Korea.
Suga, under the stage name Agust D, released his first official solo album “D-Day” on April 21.

According to Korea’s Hanteo Chart, “D-Day” sold 1,072,311 physical copies on the first day of release on April 21. This set a new record, eclipsing the record previously set by Suga’s fellow BTS member, Jimin, whose “Face” album, released on March 24, set a record for a solo album by selling 1,021,532 copies. Both Jimin and Suga earned the distinction of becoming “million sellers” on the first day of release of their solo albums. “D-Day” completes the Agust D trilogy series and it is Suga’s first solo release in three years since “D-2” in May 2020. Big Hit Music announced that the main track of the album, “Haegeum,” ranked first on the iTunes Top Songs chart in 86 countries and territories including the UK, Germany and France as of 9 a.m. KST on April 22. “D-Day, meanwhile, reached the top spot on iTunes Top Albums chart in 67 countries and territories including the US, Canada and Australia. The music video for “Haegum” has garnered 12 million views on YouTube as of this writing.
