Two residents were hurt in a fire that gutted 25 houses on Cinamie Street in Barangay 38, Caloocan City Friday, April 21.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) identified the victims as Jolan Olino, 29, who sustained minor burns on his right arm, and Aron Lebanin, 19, whose right foot had lacerations. Both were immediately treated by responding rescue personnel.
BFP said the fire was raised to first alarm at 10:55 p.m. and went up to second alarm at 11:10 p.m. and third alarm at 11:27 p.m. It was declared under control at 11:55 p.m.
The firefighters said the flames immediately spread to neighboring houses made of light materials.
They said the fire took them another two hours before it was extinguished at 1:27 a.m. on April 22.
Authorities said the blaze left an estimated P500,000 worth of property damage.
The Caloocan City government said over 30 families were affected by the fire. They are temporarily sheltering at Barangay 38's covered court.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
