Valenzuela LGU releases guidelines for 2nd booster vaccination
The Valenzuela City local government released the guidelines for the administration of the second Covid-19 booster shot in the city on Thursday, April 20.
"With the continuous pursuit for a safe and healthy Pamilyang Valenzuelano, the City Government of Valenzuela headed by Mayor WES Gatchalian, in coordination with the City Health Office, released the official guidelines for the administration of Covid-19 second booster dose for the general public on April 20, 2023," the city government stated.
Based on Memorandum No. 2023- 0146 issued by the Department of Health (DOH) last April 13, qualified individuals from the general population are now eligible for the second booster dose.
The memorandum also tackled the general guidelines on managing and administering Covid-19 second booster doses.
The city government said it will strictly observe the implementation of the official guidelines for eligibility, qualifications, and requirements, and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved vaccine brands.
It said only those who are 18 years old and above will be allowed to receive the second booster vaccination, with at least a six-month interval from their first booster shot.
Valid identification and vaccination cards will be required upon registration.
Meanwhile, pregnant and lactating women, immunocompromised individuals, and those with comorbidities should have at least a three-month interval from their first booster shot, depending on the vaccine brands. They are also required to submit a medical clearance from their attending physician.
As of this writing, the available vaccine brands in the city are Pfizer and Sinovac.
The city government encourages the public to get a complete vaccination for extra protection against the virus.
