LUCBAN, Quezon – Police recovered bomb-making components from a suspected New People’s Army (NPA) bomber who managed to escape along with his two companions during the implementation of a warrant of arrest on Thursday morning, April 20, in Barangay Kilib here.
The Quezon Provincial Mobile Force Company (QPMFC) identified the suspect as Salvador Sambajon, alias “Daryo,” “Badong,” and “Asyong,” a member of the Sub-Regional Military Area (SRMA) 4-A of the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee (STRPC) and a resident of Sitio Pahimuan, Lumutan, General Nakar, this province.
Warrant of arrest was issued by Judge Marylou Meneses, presiding judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 65, Infanta, Quezon dated Sept. 2, 2021.
Sambajon faces a frustrated murder case with a recommended bail of P200,000.
Recovered from the suspects were a sack containing three 1.5-liter plastic bottles filled with a powder substance believed to be ammonium nitrate, a Smith and Wesson .38 caliber live ammunition, and a 40 mm grenade cartridge.
These will be turned over to the Provincial Explosive Ordnance and Canine Unit-Quezon become part of evidence in court against the suspect.
Sambajon faces a complaint for violation of Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act.
