Guanzon asks Senate: Why is there no hearing on inflation?

P3PWD Party-list nominee Rowena Guanzon has a question for senators: Why is there no hearing on inflation? The outspoken Guanzon has apparently been observing the marathon hearings in the upper chamber the past few days and this has caused her to wonder if inflation would ever be tacked--like what the lawmakers say--"in aid of legislation". "Senate hearing ng murder ? Bakit walang hearing ang tungkol sa inflation rate ? #mgainutil (A Senate hearing on murder? Why is there no hearing about inflation rate?)" she tweeted on Thursday, April 20.
Fast inflation has been among the major headline-grabbers during the first year of the Marcos administration. From Monday to Wednesday, the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs held three marathon hearings on the March 4 assassination of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo. The focal person being probed in the hearing is Negros Oriental 3rd district Rep. Arnolfo "Arnie" Teves Jr., the alleged mastermind in the ambush-slay. The discussions in the hearings, presided over by committee chairman Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa, has branched off to alleged impunity in the province, aggravated by the supposed involvement of local police.
