Popular Filipino singer-songwriter Rey Valera regretted making one of his greatest hit songs "Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo" during a recent TikTok video.

"Isa lang ang pinagsisisihan kong kanta eh—isa lang. 'Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo,' " Valera said, during the media conference of the movie "Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko," recently. "There's only one song I regret— just one.)

"Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo" is one of Valera’s greatest hit songs from 2005 from his album ‘Walang Kapalit." It was also the theme song of the 2010 television series on ABS-CBN starring Kris Aquino, Gabby Concepcion, Albert Martinez, Gina Pareño, Jaclyn Jose, Maricar Reyes, Gerald Anderson, Coco Martin, Max Eigenmann, Jessy Mendiola and Kim Chiu.

On his regrets about writing the song, Valera said: "May bumati sa akin na, ‘sir alam mo ang paburito kong kanta mo yung 'Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo.' Kako nagkahiwalay na kayo ng boyfriend mo ‘no?"

Valera told the TikTok account user: "Yung epekto kase ng kantang ‘yun, mai-internalize mo ‘yun [vibe]. Nangyayari na — naging prophecy eh saka nakaka-apekto ka ng psychic."

The video was viewed by other TikTok users in a variety of ways. Some comments:

"People are becoming captives/prisoners of what their favorite songs to hear really convey #SubliminalMessages’.

"Lyrics are a form of affirmation, lalo na kapag paulit-ulit. Applying the Law of Attraction, mamamanifest mo talaga siya.’

Valera also talked about his favorite song, "Malayo Pa Ang Umaga."

‘Para sa Pilipinas ‘yan. Para sa ating lahat ‘yan. Mayroon tayong [lahat] pangarap sa Pilipinas na baka sakali pagdating ng araw maka-alis na tayo sa dilim,’ he said.
