House Speaker Martin Romualdez has positively received the results of the latest Octa Research survey, which indicated Filipinos' trust and performance ratings for the highest-ranked government officials. “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Filipino people for their continued support and trust in my leadership,” Romualdez said, referring to the results of the Tugon ng Masa (TNM) Q1 2023 survey of Octa Research. Among the officials covered by the poll, Romualdez scored the biggest increase in trust rating, gaining 17 percentage points compared to the TNM October 2022 survey. The Leyte 1st district congressman also earned the highest gain in performance rating, or 15 percentage points, between the two survey periods. Results of the TNM Q1 2023 survey showed that 55 percent of Filipino adults trust Romualdez. Meanwhile, 59 percent of Filipino adults are satisfied with the performance of the House Speaker, according to the same survey. “This is not just a personal achievement but also a tacit recognition of the tireless efforts of the entire House and the dedication of my fellow lawmakers to pass laws and policies that benefit our country and our people,” said Romualdez, president of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) party. Romualdez is the fourth highest-ranked official in the land, next to the President, Vice President, and Senate President. “I would like to assure the public that under my leadership, we will redouble our efforts to prioritize the needs and concerns of the Filipino people. We will press on for the timely passage of laws for progress and development and those meant to address the serious challenges that our nation face,” he said.
