The results of the latest Octa Research survey proves that the country’s top government officials are indeed "doing a good job". Cavite 4th district Rep. Elpidio Barzaga Jr. gave this assessment Thursday, April 20, as the congratulated the officials, which included House Speaker Martin Romualdez. “Survey after survey, we see high ratings for President Marcos Jr. and key officials of the government including our dear House Speaker Martin Romualdez. Be it satisfaction, approval or trust ratings, the Marcos administration consistently earns high marks!” said Barzaga, a member of the supermajority in the House of Representatives. According to the Tugon ng Masa (TNM) Q1 2023 survey of Octa Research, 83 percent of adult Filipinos have expressed trust for President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., with 87 percent for Vice President Sara Duterte, 50 percent for Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, 55 percent for Romualdez, and 39 percent for Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo. The same survey said 80 percent of adult Filipinos were satisfied with the performance of Marcos, with 84 percent for Duterte, 53 percent for Zubiri, 59 percent Romualdez, and 41 percent for Gesmundo. “So this is a confirmation. If you consistently score very high in successive surveys that deal with public approval, trust or satisfaction, it confirms you are doing a good job. So I congratulate all the officials who scored high in these surveys,” Barzaga said. The top five government officials--who lead the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government--also scored high in previous approval and satisfaction surveys of Pulse Asia and Social Weather Stations (SWS) In the recent Pulse Asia survey, Romualdez and Zubiri both obtained a high approval rating of 51 percent. The same survey indicated that Marcos and Duterte received high approval ratings, at 78 percent and 83 percent, respectively. The SWS survey in December also saw the House of Representatives under the leadership of Romualdez garnering a high satisfaction rating of 56 percent, ranked as “very good".
