K-pop star Moonbin of boy band ASTRO found dead at home 


K-pop idol Moonbin, member of boy band ASTRO, was found dead at his home on April 19. He was 25. 

According to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, Moonbin (문빈) was found dead at his home in Gangnam, Seoul at about 8:10 p,m. by his manager who reported it to the police.

“It is believed that Moonbin took his own life. We are discussing conducting an autopsy to investigate the exact cause of death,” the Seoul Gangnam Police said, Korean media reported. 

Moonbin was the brother of Moon Sua, a member of K-pop girl group Billlie. He was born on Jan. 26 ,1998. 

He debuted in ASTRO in 2016 and was also a member of the unit Moonbin & Sanha. 

Before debuting in ASTRO, Moonbin was a child actor. He played the role of the young So Yi-jung (played by actor Kim Bum) in the 2009 hit drama "Boys Over Flowers."

Moonbin & Sanha held their “Diffusion” fan concert in Manila last March 25. 

Moonbin’s wake is at the funeral hall of Asan Medical Center in Seoul. His funeral will be held at 8 a.m. on April 22.

Last April 11, Korean actress and model Jung Chae-yul was found dead at her home. She was 26.
