K-pop group Billlie suspends activities due to ASTRO member Moonbin’s death 


K-pop girl group Billlie suspended their activities following the death of Moonbin, member of K-pop boy band ASTRO. 

One of Billlie’s members is Moon Sua, who is the sister of Moonbin. 

Moonbin died on April 19 in an apparent suicide at his home in Gangnam, Seoul. He was 25. 

His agency, Fantagio, confirmed his death in a statement released on April 20.

Mystic Story, Billlie’s agency, announced on April 20 about the suspension of the group’s activities. 

“We inform you that the schedule for this week has been canceled or postponed. In the case of the fan signing schedule, we will inform you again through a later notice, and for other schedules, including broadcasts, we will inform you of specific cancellations. We ask for your generous understanding,” the agency said. 

According to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, Moonbin was found dead at his home at about 8:10 p,m. by his manager who reported it to the police. 

“It is believed that Moonbin took his own life. We are discussing conducting an autopsy to investigate the exact cause of death,” said the Seoul Gangnam Police said, Korean media reported. 

Moonbin was born on Jan. 26 ,1998. He made his debut as a member of ASTRO in 2016 and he was also a member of the unit Moonbin & Sanha. 

Moonbin & Sanha held their “Diffusion” fan concert in Manila last March 25. 

Moonbin’s wake is at the funeral hall of Asan Medical Center in Seoul. His funeral will be held at 8 a.m. KST on April 22.
