Three drown in Pangasinan resorts

PANGASINAN – A minor and two others died in two separate drowning incidents in Bolinao and Agno towns in this province on Saturday, April 1. The victims were identified as Maxine Peñalosa Bandoquillo, 9, of Barangay Pembo, Makati City; Nestor Ubano, 58, of Barangay Sanchez, Asingan, Pangasinan; and Rafael Pasion Licup, 31, of Barangay Cuayan, Angeles City, Pampanga. According to a report, the minor victim drowned at the swimming pool of K & B Resort in Barangay Patar, Bolinao. The victim was rushed to Rillera Medical Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. Also in Bolinao, Rafael drowned at the swimming pool of Holy Land Beach Resort in Barangay Patar. Ubano, on the other hand, was with 10 passengers on a banana boat which sailed through the waters of Sitio Cabongaoan in Barangay Ilio-Ilio in Burgos, Pangasinan. However, upon reaching the portion of Sitio Masangret in Barangay Baruan in Agno, the banana boat flipped, causing Ubano to fall off the boat and drown. Nestor was rushed to the nearest hospital but wdeclared dead on arrival.
