The Quezon City government will temporarily halt its free bus ride program from Thursday, April 6 to Monday, 10, in observance of the Holy Week.
The city government said the suspension of the QCity Bus program is to give time for drivers and conductors to commemorate Holy Week with their families.
It said the free ride program will resume operation at 5 a.m. on April 11.
The program was launched on Dec. 7, 2020, to resolve limited public transportation amid the community restrictions brought about by to Covid-19 pandemic.
The bus service has eight routes that operate daily. Each QCity Bus is air-conditioned and has a free Wifi connection for passengers.
Meanwhile, the city government also advised motorists that the number coding scheme will be suspended from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, to give way for people who will be traveling to their provinces for the Holy Week celebration.
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said the coding scheme will also be suspended from April 6 to 10.
