Loss to TNC a wake-up call for league-leading Bren Esports

But not for the league-leading Bren Esports. To everyone’s shock, the hive, which for weeks looked invulnerable, found itself engulfed by Phoenix’s fire from TNC which ended its winning run with a resounding 2-1 victory. It was a painful loss for sure, but for head coach Francis “Duckeyy” Glindro it was a timely wake-up call that humbled his charges especially with the playoffs now just around the corner. “Yung series namin versus TNC was a very humbling experience kasi kahit sino naman na win streak for a long time you feel invulnerable, di ka matatalo. Well it goes to show na kaya kami talunin ng kahit sinong teams sa MPL,” said the M2 World Champion tactician. Bren though made sure to quickly lick its wound from the painful loss and bounce back hard the following week, taking down playoff-seeking RSG Slate Philippines with a commanding 2-0 win. Certainly, the loss proved to be a harsh reminder for Bren Esports that no one is safe in the league where the last three world champions originated from. Duckeyy however was more than pleased at how his young players took the loss to the chin and responded well. Bren Esports just rampaged its way through RSG securing the sweep in a commanding 12-5 win in Game 1 before putting up an almost impeccable domination in Game 2 with a 15-1 tally. “It was a very humbling experience ‘yung mga bata was like, ‘hindi, babawi kami coach’ so I was just happy that they made good with their word.”
