The “Buhay Ingatan, Droga'y Ayawan” (BIDA) program of the Department of Interior and Local Government was launched in Isabela by Secretary Benhur Abalos at the Isabela Convention Center in Cauayan City on Saturday, April 1.
The Police Regional Office (PRO) 2 (Cagayan Valley) led by Police Brig. Gen. Percival A. Rumbaoa joined the program.
Abalos cited President Marcos’ campaign against drugs which seized P4-billion worth of suspected shabu in a recent operation in Baguio City.
The DILG Secretary lauded the PRO-2 for being No. 2 nationwide in the implementation of the barangay drug-clearing program.
Other activities held during the launching of the BIDA program were a fun run, Zumba dance, BIDA dance, and signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and Pledge of Commitment.
BIDA is an intensified and holistic campaign against illegal drugs to reduce drug demand in the community.
