Why OPM icon Rey Valera regretted writing the hit song 'Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo'

Popular Filipino singer-songwriter Rey Valera regretted making one of his greatest hit songs "Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo" during a recent TikTok video. "Isa lang ang pinagsisisihan kong kanta eh—isa lang. 'Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo,' " Valera said, during the media conference of the movie "Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko," recently. "There's only one song I regret— just one.) "Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo" is one of Valera’s greatest hit songs from 2005 from his album ‘Walang Kapalit." It was also the theme song of the 2010 television series on ABS-CBN starring Kris Aquino, Gabby Concepcion, Albert Martinez, Gina Pareño, Jaclyn Jose, Maricar Reyes, Gerald Anderson, Coco Martin, Max Eigenmann, Jessy Mendiola and Kim Chiu. On his regrets about writing the song, Valera said: "May bumati sa akin na, ‘sir alam mo ang paburito kong kanta mo yung 'Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo.' Kako nagkahiwalay na kayo ng boyfriend mo ‘no?"
