The hilly terrain in Angono, Rizal is fast becoming a favorite spot for coffee shops and restaurants.
During a visit by this reporter to a private subdivision on Botong Francisco Avenue in Angono, the place, which has an overlooking view of Laguna Lake with the background of the skyscrapers of Metro Manila, has become venues of food parks, coffee shops and restaurants including a few camping sites and staycation areas.
The office of Angono Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon told Manila Bulletin that there are now 15 food parks and four restaurants or coffee shops in that area alone via the Botong Francisco Avenue.
Inside Villa Angelina Heights in Barangay San Isidro, a place called Kampo de Angono, has glamping areas with air-conditioned tents and triangle-shaped huts that offers overnight accommodations for couples and groups of four persons per units. Its features are the “kawa” (cauldron) baths that are situated right in front of each hut, the hanging hammock, and the overlooking view of Angono and Taytay.

Several other similar establishments can be found on top of the hills inside the same subdivision or its adjacent villages.
Most of these food hubs and lodging areas popped up during the post pandemic years, according to the municipal government.

Motorists can access the food hubs, restaurants and coffee shops through Botong Francisco Avenue from Manila East Road.
Most of these establishments are being featured on social media posts by the Angono municipal government including Mayor Calderon and her father, Vice Mayor Gerardo Calderon.
