A total of 143 city hall employees in Parañaque City voluntarily submitted themselves to random drug testing on Tuesday, April 18.
According to Mayor Eric Olivarez, the random drug testing was conducted by members of the Parañaque Anti-Drug Abuse Office (PADAO) and City Health Office (CHO) under Dra. Olga Virtusio at the conference room of the Mayor’s Office.
City Administrator Atty. Voltaire dela Cruz and six of his employees led the group of employees who submitted themselves to the random drug testing.
He said 85 members of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) under the supervision of Dr. Teodoro B. Gonzales Jr. also underwent drug testing.
The mayor said other departments that joined in the random drug testing were the Mayor’s Office with 29 employees and the Urban Mission Areas Development Office (UMADO) headed by Shella Bernal with 23 employees.
Olivarez said the city government is regularly conducting random drug testing on all employees based on the drug-free workplace ordinance of the city government.
He said the city government started to conduct the random drug testing on city hall employees on November 15, 2022.
