Man nabbed for grave threat, direct assault in QC

A man was arrested after he threatened to kill a senior citizen, attacked and injured police officers in Quezon City on Tuesday afternoon, April 18.  The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Holy Spirit Station identified the suspect as  Adrian Notarte, 30, of Brgy. Holy Spirit, Quezon City. Police said that the victim, Junior Paquit, 71, also from the same barangay, was resting inside his house when the suspect, who was armed with a knife, forcibly tried to  enter and threatened to kill him for an unknown reason. The suspect failed to get in but he destroyed the door of the house by kicking it.   A witness sought help from the police which deployed personnel to apprehend the suspect. They recovered the suspect’s bladed weapon. While under police custody, the suspect tried to escape. He attacked and injured police officers. The policemen managed to prevent Notarte from fleeing.  He will be charged for grave threat and direct assault before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, the QCPD said.
