The Muntinlupa delegation is composed of Biazon, Councilors Marissa Rongavilla, Ivee Arciaga Tadefa and Alexson Diaz, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation chairperson Ken Takagi, and two city department heads. In a Facebook post, Biazon said when they arrived in the Netherlands, they immediately went to the Philippine Embassy in The Hague based on their schedule. The Philippine delegation was met by Ambassador Ed Malaya, who is a Muntinlupa resident. Biazon said they toured the newly renovated Philippine Embassy. The property was purchased by the Philippine government in the 1950s and this was the first time that it was renovated. Ambassador Malaya briefed the Philippine delegation about the works of the embassy in the Netherlands, the relations and trade between the two countries. “Mahalaga ang diplomatic post na ito dahil nandito ang International Court of Justice, International Criminal Court at Permanent Court of Arbitration (This diplomatic post is important as it is the location of the International Court of Justice, International Criminal Court and Permanent Court of Arbitration),” according to Biazon. He said they also had meetings and dialogue with representatives of different Filipino community organizations in the Netherlands. The MMDA organized the study tour that includes the mayors of Muntinlupa, Quezon City, San Juan, Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Pasay City, Valenzuela, Mandaluyong and Pateros. Biazon said the Netherlands is known for its beautiful programs on sustainable development. “Inaasahan na magagamit ng mga Metro Manila cities ang mga makikita at matututunan namin na mga programa dito (We hope that Metro Manila cities can use what we will see and learn from the program),” he said.
