Tabuelan police officer allegedly linked to Teves case reveals willingness to testify in Senate

CEBU CITY – The officer-in-charge of the Tabuelan Police Station in northern Cebu is willing to appear before the Senate to clear his name after he was linked to the camp of suspended Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves.

Police Col. Allen June Germodo denied that he was close to Teves who was accused of masterminding the killing of Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo.

In a hearing by the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs on Tuesday, April 18, Germodo’s name was mentioned by Siaton Fritz Diaz.

Diaz said that Germodo was Teves’ alleged bagman tasked to distribute money to other policemen.

Siaton said the money was part of the proceeds from Small Town Lottery and online “sabong” (cockfighting).

Interviewed by reporters, Germodo denied that he was involved in transactions involving Teves.

Germodo admitted he was the chief of police in Santa Catalina, Negros Oriental in 2020. He was also the chief of police in Zamboanguita
in 2021.

Germodo said that it was impossible that he was the bagman of Teves as he was already relieved from his assignment in Negros Oriental last year.

“I will go to the Senate to clear these things up. I want to clear this allegation against me,” said Germodo in Cebuano.

The Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) said it will be up to the national office to decide on the matter.

Police Lt. Col. Mark Gifter Sucalit, deputy provincial director for operations of CPPO, said they did not receive any information linking Germodo in the murder case of Degamo.
