BLACKPINK becomes first Korean headliner at Coachella 


K-pop girl group BLACKPINK performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California on April 15 to become the first Korean headliner at the event. 

BLACKPINK’s Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé performed 20 songs at Coachella including solo spots.

Among them were “Pink Venom,” “Whistle,” “Lovesick Girls,” “Kill This Love,” “How You Like That, “Pretty Savage,” “Boombayah,” “Playing With Fire,” ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “Forever Young.”

Jennie sang “You and Me” while Lisa performed “Money.” Jisoo had “Flower” while Rosé had “Gone.” 

“I’m happy to be back here after four years. Our dreams have come true,” said Jennie, according to the YG blog. 

Rosé said, “We were invited to Coachella four years ago, and now we’re standing here as headliners at one of the world’s most beloved music festivals. Our dreams have come true.”

It was in 2019 when BLACKPINK first performed at Coachella to become the first K-pop girl group to make an appearance at the festival. 

BLACKPINK will return to headline Coachella on April 22. 

They will be performing at the  BST Hyde Park in London on July 2. They also added stadium shows in New Jersey, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Los Angeles in August.
